Gmail interface and Google Voice

Many like the concept of making free phone called from the U.S. to any other numbers whether it is cell phone, desktop virtual phone or land line. Phone service providers are against it, but every person else likes the idea. Gmail and Google Voice being connected is great for those people wanting to effortlessly make free phone calls to wherever they need. Anywhere you can access Gmail, you can make a free call.

Google Voice turns your Gmail contacts into an active phone service

You may not have a phone on you, or you might be in a place with poor cellular reception or exorbitant roaming fees, but when you have an Internet connection and can access your Gmail account, you can make a free call with Google Voice. Two cents per minute is the rate if the call is outside the U.S. or Canada. TechCrunch reports that all it takes is the Google Talk plug-in for browser. You can make and receive calls from your Gmail interface of all places. Voicemails are saved into your Gmail inbox. There is also one more really cool thing. Just transfer calls from Google Voice to your cell phone in case you are on the run but want to keep talking.

In Gmail, Google Voice can be here soon

The Official Google Voice Blog says that U.S. Gmail accounts will get the Google Voice feature in the next few days. Watch for “Call Phone” to show up as part of your Google Chat list. There can be a Google Voice feature for those using Google Apps for academic or business purposes. Of course that might take just a little longer to appear and be useable.
